A Choice: Poverty or Prosperity

“I hated poverty.
Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it.”

Dr. Ben Carson

I believe what Carson says is true because if you were born poor or became poor you yourself can change that. It is a matter of how much you want it and how much you are willing to get out of poverty. No one can stop you from that you can work hard and try hard and you shall earn what you have been working for all this time.

“Never because
You can’t be right by doing wrong; you can’t be wrong by doing right.”

Thomas S. Monson

What Monson is saying is that you cannot do something wrong and feel right or certain about it and you cannot be right and feeling wrong. An example could be that you donate money to a charity to help the little kids’ in need; you cannot feel wrong of doing that. Another example could be that if you steal something with walking pass by them; you cannot feel right about doing that.

“Enthusiasm makes the difference.”

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

I think what Dr. Peale means is that enthusiasm is what helps you choose what path to go. Enthusiasm means to be eager or intense to do something, to show interest or approval, meaning you choose from right to wrong with enthusiasm.

“I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do the right thing.”

Dean Smith
I think maybe what he means by this quote is that because he retired from coaching a team people assume that he was trying to leave a legacy but that is not true. He left because he felt it was the right thing to do for himself, family and his team because he needed time to retire; he needed to be with his family, and his team to try to win that legacy without him to see if they could do it.

My winter break was okay, I was stuck at home most of the time, and I just watched animes & did my chores. I did get a chance to go out a few times like the first day of our winter break I went to a Christmas party that my friends and I made, which was fun, we did secret Santa and I got a dango plushy, wooden chopsticks, earphones, little food erasers, and perfume. I also went to Lancaster to celebrate a birthday party and a baby shower of a family friend it was fun, we played games and they gave out prizes. For Christmas it was fun too I spent it was my family and I got a new phone, new earphones again, and headphones. My New Years I spent it with my family watching movies waiting until it was 2015. That was my winter break it was pretty nice and relaxing.

that is the goal of true education”

I think this is somewhat true because you cannot earn education without learning anything from it or gaining knowledge, making you intelligent. If you do not then you are not putting your future forward and you are not paying attention to the education someone is giving you.
