1)               Write a post evaluating this course.

a)     What I liked about this class is I learned how to type a bit faster, I learned how to use blogger and posting documents on my electronic portfolio. What I did not like about this class is that I had to take it again after taking it 2 years in middle school and passing it. Also it hurts my eyes after using the computer for a while that is why I do not like using computers much, but this class is fun.

b)  I suggest giving rewards to the student who always do their work so it can encourage others who do not do their work.

c)  I really did my best in this class and I am hoping I get an A or a B.  

d)     I read my 100+ goals  almost every day and try to think of new goals that I want to accomplish.

e) I am committed to being a CTR person because I always want to do the right thing and feel good about it.

Showcase Adventure

      On the first day we talked about the interdisciplinary project, I already knew who to choose for my group which was my 3 friends because they are responsible and will stay on task. I knew I could count on them to do their part & remember it and on the day the day of the presentation.

    The presentation was good; they gave us a 3 so we need to work harder next time to earn that 4. The only one who kind of messed up was me because I was really nervous, I get stage fright, but I did not go running out of the class or stutter much or was too quiet. The good thing was is that I was loud and kind of stuttering but my friends said that I did well and that they are proud that I continued with my part and even answered some questions.

   After the presentation, I let all my nervousness out I even felt like I could not breathe because I was just that nervous but I’m proud that we did good and we will do better and work harder to earn that 4 next semester.

What Lincoln is saying is that whenever he does bad things he feels bad about it but whenever he does good things he feels proud and god about it. This quote pretty much works for everybody, including myself, because you cannot do bad things and feel good about it or you cannot do good things and feel bad about it that just is not right. I know when I do bad things I do feel bad, I feel guilty. Although, when I do good things I feel really good about and think it is the right thing to do.

I believe what Mr. Haymore is saying means people should take responsibility for their own actions. Whatever you do affects you in many positive and negative ways.

Because the little boy, Patrick, did not listen to his parents, he paid the price by getting stung by a scorpion. Patrick chose the wrong of not listening to his parents about putting on his shoes. This made him regret to listen to them instead of being so lazy and rebellious.

Dermatologist

Duties and responsibilities:

A dermatologist is a doctor who specializes in skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes (ex. Lining inside the mouth, nose, and eyelids. They diagnose and treat 3,000 different diseases which include skin cancer, eczema, acne, psoriasis, and nail infections. Dermatologist also improve their patients appearance like wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and look more like the patients self after surgery when a skin cancer is removed.

Salary: $100,000-$500,000 a year

Education:

·       Bachelor’s degree

·       Medical school, becoming a medical doctor or doctor of osteopathic medicine

·       Internship, 1 year

·       Dermatology residency program, at least 3 years

I really would love to be a dermatologist because I want to know why people get rashes, acne, wrinkles etc. I simply just want to learn how it is caused, how can you prevent it, how to treat it, and what triggers it.

Thanksgiving Day

Act of Kindness

In the video, I liked the part when the man in the store gave the lady with her baby money to pay for the diapers because he saw how she was struggling with her baby, had no money because her card was declined, so he just gave her money to pay for it without anything in return. What he did shows true kindness, he made her day.

Dental Assistant

Duties and responsibilities:

A dental Assistant performs many tasks for the dentist in assisting during the treatment procedure, taking and developing dental x-rays, preparing the equipment for the dentist to use during the procedure etc…

Salary: $5,080-$34,500 a year

Education:

·       Dental assisting programs 1 year

·       2 year associate’s degree program

I think I would like to be a dentist assistant because you can see how the dentist works and help them out.

Dental Lab Technician

Duties and responsibilities:

A dental lab technician work with dentists to follow a written order or prescription of the dentist. For instance if the dentist writes down the patient needs full dentures who are missing all of their teeth they would get it for them.

Salary: $25,000-$50,000 a year

Education:

·       High school diploma

·       Graduate from a technical school

·       Associate’s degree

I would not want to be this because I do not find it that interesting.

Veterans’ Day

Veterans’ Day is the day America gained an alliance with Germany on the 11^th month on the 11^th day and on the 11^th hour of 1918. Since then every November 11^th people in America honor soldiers for what they did. Also there is a ceremony held on that day at 11 p.m. to honor and thank them.

I believe what Moorman means is that when you are doing something right you are doing it honestly and fair to others which is what matters the most instead of just winning or losing. For instance you are taking a test and did not study then your friend asks if you want the answers you should just say no because once you do that test you are doing it fairly and honest to others and yourself.

Integrity is someone who is being honest and having a strong moral of principles.

Synonyms’:  Honesty, morality, righteousness, honor, virtue ethics, etc….

Examples:

·     James lack of integrity caused him to get fired from his job.

·     After Benjamin got arrested for robbing a bank, everybody was questioning his integrity.

Dentist

Duties and responsibilities:

A dentist diagnoses oral diseases, checks for your oral health, prevents diseases, creates a treatment plan to help maintain or restore the patients’ oral health. Dentist also does tests with x-rays to check your teeth are fine and provide medication for your mouth if needed.

Salary: $70,210-$97,970 a year

Education:

·       Bachelor’s degree

·       Dental Admissions Test (DAT)

·       Dental School (4 years)

I would not like to be a dentist because I would probably get disgust by what they have in their mouth. They could have old rotten teeth or yellow dirty teeth and I would not want to see that.

For instance, some of your so call friends offer you to smoke well those are not your friends if they are making you do stuff that you are not supposed to do, so you follow the rules and you don’t do it that’s being cool.
