“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.”

Abraham Lincoln

I think what Lincoln implies is that he does not want to when but he wants to stand with the person who speaks the truth and is honest. When everyone goes against that person because they believe that person is wrong then to be by there side because they are the one who speaks the truth.

April Fool’s Day

April fool’s day is on the 1st of April and celebrated in the US. This day is not really recognized as a holiday but on this day many prank each other or pull practical jokes on one another.

This day is celebrated very differently throughout the world and it is unknown from where it really originated from. In some cultures, they see as a first day of spring and others as the first day of the year. So they celebrated it by a feast but some people in those cultures refused to believe that April 1st is the first day of the year for them, which then resulted in April fool.

The custom to practical jokes had been set on 1632, when legend says that the Duke of Lorraine and his wife escaped a prison at Nantes by dressing as peasants, walking out of the front gate. When the guards were alerted of how they escaped, they laughed at what they thought was an April Fools’ prank and so began the tradition of pulling pranks on that day.

“I trust that my hard work will pay off.”

Tyler Haws

I really like this quote because it is true, hard work does pay off eventually. Once you set your mind to it and focus really hard on what you want you can earn it. Like if you are just a simple employee in your work but every day you come on time do what you’re supposed to do, respectful and you are trustworthy, you can get into a higher position like manager. If you really want something you must work hard for it.

Arts and Crafts

Arts and crafts are something you can do in your spare time for fun, whether it is a hobby or it can become a career, if you really do like it so much. Arts and crafts were recognized in Europe in the early 20th centuries as a movement promoting hand craftsmanship over industrial mass production.  It is usually objects made to be both beautiful and useful, such as some pictures shown to below. as shown, you can literally make things out of anything you like and use them in your daily life.
This is a great was to explore your imagination and creativity, it is fun.

“True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s right.”

Brigham Young

Young implies that only if you choose what’s right you truly will find your freedom and your independence. Of course you do the wrong thing like steal you will not be free; you will be in prison for the crime you had just committed. By choosing the right you go down the right path and you follow it to your freedom and independence.

St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland, who was once Christian and born in Britain. St. Patrick at the age of 16, was kidnapped by some Irish raiders and taken to Ireland and became a shepherd, outdoors and away from people. Then one day, he heard a voice telling him to go back home to your family, St. Patrick believing it was God followed his command.

Once at his homeland with his family, he felt like he could not forget about Ireland, then one day he believed that an angel told him to go back to Ireland as a missionary. Before returning he was ordained a priest and spent 40 years at Ireland to spread Christianity faith among the Celtic Pagan Population.

On March 17, 1416 they honor him for spreading the religion across Ireland. Green is worn because of Ireland’s nickname “The Emerald Isle,” although this holiday was originally supposed to be blue but since of the nickname they changed it to green instead. There is a legend said in Ireland, that wearing green makes a person invisible to leprechauns that will pinch anyone they see, which is the people not wearing green.

Caring for others

In the video, a middle school football team called Olivet Eagles in Olivet, Michigan wanted to make a dream come true for a sick kid in their school. The sick kid always wanted to be in a football team and make a touchdown, so the football team decided to make that dream come true. In a game, the sick kid played with the team and their competition, the whole team surrounded the sick kid so he can make that touchdown.

It is really nice to see that there is still some people who care about others other than themselves. When the team helped him they all felt good about it.

George Mitchell

Mitchell says how cheating for that one little moment of success is not worth your whole life of guilt and pain. Using drugs to win in a sport is cheating, such as steroids.
