April Fool’s Day

April fool’s day is on the 1st of April and celebrated in the US. This day is not really recognized as a holiday but on this day many prank each other or pull practical jokes on one another.

This day is celebrated very differently throughout the world and it is unknown from where it really originated from. In some cultures, they see as a first day of spring and others as the first day of the year. So they celebrated it by a feast but some people in those cultures refused to believe that April 1st is the first day of the year for them, which then resulted in April fool.

The custom to practical jokes had been set on 1632, when legend says that the Duke of Lorraine and his wife escaped a prison at Nantes by dressing as peasants, walking out of the front gate. When the guards were alerted of how they escaped, they laughed at what they thought was an April Fools’ prank and so began the tradition of pulling pranks on that day.
